Blowing Up Birds

Are you cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving this year? If so, you may want to nix the fryer. Of course the turkey bomb seems like over-kill too.

As usual, I’ll leave the instructions to the experts at Howcast:

Have a good holiday!

Fringe Fridays: Strange & Amazing

Those of you who tune in regularly know that Fridays are devoted to the discovery of videos that lay just outside the mainstream. We call it Fringe Fridays. In the spirit of Fringe Fridays, I’m proud to announce the launch of our newest network: The Strange and Amazing Video Network. It’s a collection of videos that showcase the odd side of life. From Amazing People to Weird Science, Real or Fake to Robot Watch!, it’s veritable video wunderkammer. It’s a cross between Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and that carnival sideshow your parents warned you about.

And, if you have videos that you think belong there, let us know in the comment section below!

Britney’s Existential Crisis

According to this episode of ITN, Britney says her “life is worse than jail” (spoken like someone who’s never seen an episode of Oz). Jail, it seems, is preferable because you know when you’re getting out. Never-the-less, it’s great to see the pop princess making these revelations. It’s not exactly Sartre, mostly because Sartre didn’t have to take out his gum when he spoke, but at least she’s not expressing her existential rage through bad haircut choices anymore.

We get to hear a lot more about Britney’s life in this upcoming MTV documentary:

Broadcasting Barack

Yahoo! Video is proud to announce that we’ll be carrying President-elect Barack Obama’s weekly video addresses to the nation. Obama rocked the Internet for fundraising, outreach, and organizing, so it’s no surprise that he’s using it to communicate to the people now that he’s been elected. Many people are comparing these videos to FDR’s fireside chats.

You’ll find the first address below. Add the change.gov page to your favorites to see the latest videos as they’re released.

Paula Abdul Corpse Shocker

From the things-keep-getting-weirder department comes this story of a corpse found very close to one of Paula Abdul’s homes. It’s not Paula’s corpse, but that of a fan. It’s icky and creepy, and has all the marks of a classic Hollywood fan-obsession story.

Watch the video below, which will repeat everything I just told you over unrelated file-footage. Keep up on the latest developments at omg!
