Hooking Up is the title of a new HBOlabs series starring a handful of viral video stars including Nalts, Lonelygirl15, and Charles Trippy. True to its stars, the show will be released online as a series of webisodes. The plot? According to the trailer, it’s all about college life. And, according to the trailer, college life is all about getting fake IDs, partying, and—of course—hooking up (apparently with Lonelygirl15). Here’s the trailer:

Tired of seeing San Francisco favor parking spaces over parks, a group known as REBAR decided to remedy that situation—at least for a day. Now an annual event, PARK(ing) Day is one of those West Coast phenomena that seems either inspired or typically loony. What is it? It’s a day where, instead of parking your SUV at a meter, you can park your bottom on a bench on a patch of green in the middle of a bustling metropolis. That’s right, you can sit in a gutter without getting ticketed for vagrancy.

According to my sources, this was the least watched Emmy Awards show in decades. Personally, I stopped paying attention to the Emmys years ago, when they seemed like they were just an excuse for the Sopranos cast to put on their Sunday best and show up with an acceptance speech. But just like every self-congratulatory event on television, the Internet filters out the fluff and gets straight to the point.
Once again, we go back to our loyal faves over at ‘Best Week Ever’ for the highlight reel and key moments we shouldn’t have missed because we had better things to do with our time than waste it sitting on the couch.

Today marks the release of the newest animated spectacular, MGM’s Igor. The last few years have seen a boom in full-length animated movies, no doubt spurred on by Pixar’s runaway success. But it hasn’t just been animated family films making the studios take notice. Last year’s Persepolis proved that animation is not just kid’s stuff (though fans of the Triplettes of Belville already knew that). This year will see the release of two films, Waltz with Bashir and Fears of the Dark, that tackle themes of fear, nightmares, and war.
Whether your taste runs for the cute-and-cuddly or the darker fare mentioned above, check out the animated movie trailers in our Animation Network. From anime to art house to main-stream, we assemble the best of what’s coming soon to a theater near you:
