The Yahoo! Video Awards keep rolling on. This morning we honor the nominees for Best Series. From comedy to drama, though mostly the former, these shows helped viewers get through the tedious Hollywood writer’s strike. They offer fresh, well-written story-lines that can’t be contained in a single episode.

I have voted for Guild. I am very concerned for these characters. They have just the right combination of Humor, Tragedy, & Ridiculousness that would make a good TV show. Hi! I’m internet TV’s Will Guffey. You know, when I’m stuck between the difficult decision of choosing the show I love to watch and choosing the show I star in, I normally DON’T make a decision and cower in the corner holding on tight to my woobie. But thankfully with the nomination choices of the Yahoo’s 2008 Best Series Award, the decision is easy. “Something to be Desired” is not only a show I’m in but a show I love to watch. This longest running internet series is filled with comical situations and dramatic plot turns. And sure I may be biased, proud, egotistical, and suffering from a concussion. But when a phone is ringing in the yahoo white house who do you want to pick up the phone? A man dressed like a woman? A Warcraft player stalking another warcraft player? Someone who punches people? A man who can’t get a TV show off the ground? or a bunch of twenty somethings who do their best to have the upper hand.
In all seriousness it is an honor not only to be nominated for the 2008 Yahoo Best Series Award but also an honor to nominated alongside such creative shows such as The Guild and Break a Leg. Thank you for your support.

As the creator of STBD, I’m obviously biased regarding my actual vote. But the truth is, being nominated by Yahoo is a great honor for all five of us, who keep fighting the good fight to make quality web content on a shoestring budget. We’ve been producing STBD since 2003, before iPods, YouTube, podcasting, etc., and it’s been fascinating to see all the great ideas that other people have come up with as they realize anyone CAN produce a web series. All it takes is talent, dedication and a love for the work — because you can only hold a cast of quality actors together for so long with the promise of free coffee.
Thanks to everyone who’s voted for us, as well as to the fans of each of our fine competitors. Hopefully, awards (and interest) like this is what propels each of us forward, and opens the door for even more innovation and creativity on the web. Onward and upward!

It’s cheating when one has been steadily accumulating votes for days and days, is almost 4000 votes ahead and suddenly, in the space of a few hours, the other one gets over 4000 votes (1 vote per IP address) and pulls ahead. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

I voted for The Guild myself. And to be honest, if you see something like a show suddenly have 300+ votes on it, someone probably put the vote link on a forum site with a large userbase (wow, 300 out of like, 1500 would be nothing). I know I put the links on a semi-huge forum and told everyone to vote for The Guild, and considering how many other places the voting links are right now this isn’t impossible and doesn’t necessarily mean anyone was cheating.

Otherwise I’m a mommy. lol That woman with the kids was disturbing, and hopefully with much luck I won’t turn out that way.. But I could totally see my therapist firing me for my Internet/Magic the Gathering/Myspace/sci-fi/playing with my daughter and her toys/still have my own toys/belief in the supernatural tendencies..

TBH, I saw The Guild several months ago and thought it was one of the funniest damn things I’d ever seen, because I know people like this. Yes, Nathan alerted me that there was this award vote going on, but that was all he did. I looked at each vid subjectively, and decided that The Guild took the cake, IMHO.
Nathan Fillion did put the word out, but at least for me, it was only to take a look and vote. I won’t vote a specific way just because Nathan tells me to–though granted I respect him and his thoughts and opinions–and so really, it’s thanks to him that I voted. That’s all. Who I voted for was who I believed to be the best candidate.
Keep up the amazing work, Felicia. It’s pretty clear you have this in the bag, but I’m just offering my support to keep doing what you do, because I find it funny as hell.

Lol I should not be allowed to type anything when I’m tired. I missed the earlier voting because I didn’t know anything about any of these shows until Nathan Fillion sent out the “word” and by the time I got here, The Guild was almost 4000 votes ahead.
For the record, I did come here because Nathan said so but I watched them all then I had to go to Felicia’s page and watch the rest and now I’m sooooo addicted!! I want more and now (yes saw that 8 is up and I’m there after I type this)
OH and I left it up while I was making dinner and my 12 yo watched one, then the rest… he’s waiting for episode 8 too
But he’s asleep so he’s gonna have to wait!
